SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING INTERN


Coalition Music is looking for a team player with a positive attitude to fill an available Social Media Marketing Intern position. This is a volunteer position, and an honorarium is provided. This internship is for college and university students who are required to complete an internship for their degree. 

We believe in helping artists and our internship program follows that same philosophy – to help interns. Our program offers interns the tools necessary to bridge textbook learning to real hands-on learning. It is designed to provide a basic overview of what it’s like to work in a non-traditional office setting, as well as give an overview of how the Canadian music industry works.

We are looking for one candidate who can work from home two-three days a week starting April 2025. This is a four-month hybrid position and the hours are 10 AM to 6 PM, with some flexibility. Our in-office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and we ask that our interns are present in office on these days.

Responsibilities

  • Work with marketing department to curate engaging content for socials across all platforms

  • Research and archive artist discography, charting history, award nominations and career milestones

  • Create monthly calendars and timelines with important dates for marketing department

  • Attend marketing and social media department meetings, contribute to brainstorms, content creation

  • Monitor social media for daily trends

  • Assist with weekly social checklists/audits and occasionally launch new profiles

  • Put together mood boards and visuals for artwork and photo inspirations

  • Schedule content

Requirements

The ideal candidate is detailed oriented, and has exceptional organizational and time-management skills, coupled with a strong desire to learn and develop.

  • A High School diploma is required

  • Working towards a college / university degree in Arts, Communications, Human Resources or a related field

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Experience with social media management and content editing tools

  • Experience with Squarespace and Canva considered an asset
