LØLØ

LØLØ is not your average pop girl.

Hailing from Toronto, ON, LØLØ knew early on that music was going to be her life. She filled diaries upon diaries with revealingly honest lyrics that she turned into infectiously catchy pop songs with an effortlessly cool edge.

After her reimagined cover of Bruce Springstein’s “Dancing In The Dark” and her TikTok sensation, a re-written version of Taylor Swift’s “Betty” from the opposite perspective of the song’s subject, hit the world, LØLØ became a professional songwriter, writing songs for artists like Ashley Kutcher. But she never turned away from writing and performing her own songs.

Cue “lonely and pathetic” - the first song she released in 2021, and the song that saw her world explode. The song covered the highs and lows of love and heartbreak, and showcased the new generation of pop with a punk edge. In the Fall, she toured North America with pop punk legends, New Found Glory and Less Than Jake, and released her debut EP overkill to critical and commercial acclaim. People Magazine named her an “Emerging Artist making their mark in music” and publications like Alternative Press, American Songwriter, Ones To Watch, and Rock Sound featured LØLØ as an artist to watch. Spotify also featured her on their EQUAL campaign that showcases female artists changing the game in audio.

With “debbie downer,” LØLØ’s first collaboration with alternative pop singer, Maggie Lindemann, LØLØ wanted to write a song for anyone that’s ever felt a little different or out of place too. She shares, “So there’s this girl, debbie. She‘s got jet black nails to match her hair and the rest of her outfit. She’s a little bit of a mess (but, who isn’t these days?) More often than not, u may find her being a little too drunk at a party, possibly falling over. Maybe she’s a little intense — she tends to over share and talk about things that “normal” people find weird— but that’s just debbie. I’ve heard people say she’s “too aggressive” but I don’t think she means to be. She’s always asked “are you ok?” – which she swears she is. She’s sensitive and emotional, but she’s not sad (most of the time). Sometimes she just feels like she doesn’t really belong…”

With the bop, “junkie,” a song about being in a toxic relationship and the difficulty of ending it, LØLØ is ready to introduce the many faces of debbie downer to the world. While “THE FLOOR IS LAVA!!” tells the relatable tale of experiencing crippling anxiety and being stuck in your own head and body, LØLØ turns the world on its head with pop banger, “u turn me on (but u give me depression).” The catchy, tongue in cheek summer jam takes back the power from exes and toxic relationships. “I live in a constant state of purgatory - flip flopping from happiness to sadness. I love him, I hate him. He turns me on. He gives me depression,” LØLØ explains, “But most importantly, he helps me write the best songs.” After performing at Lollapalooza and is set Sad Summer Festival (with Waterparks, Neck Deep, Against The Current, and more) this year, LØLØ is about to take the world by storm.

That’s way better than average. xoxo.
